Productivity

monday.com hosts an official Platform MCP server at https://mcp.monday.com/mcp. It exposes more than 60 tools for reading and writing monday.com data, so Andromity can query a board, create items and update columns while it works on a task.

Sign-in uses OAuth. monday.com pre-approves some third-party agents; any other client registers dynamically and an account admin must approve the connection, so you may need to ask your admin first.

What the agent can do with monday.com

  • Query boards and read item data.
  • Create items and update column values.
  • Run actions as GraphQL API requests behind the scenes, so results match what the monday.com API returns.
  • Use more than 60 tools in total; monday.com says the set can change, so the server's tool list is the source of truth.

Example prompts

Ask for the work in plain language. Naming the server helps, for example “use the monday.com MCP server”.

  • Read the monday.com item for the onboarding checklist bug, fix it in this repo and set its Status column to Done.
  • Query the Sprint board for items assigned to me that are In Progress and tell me which ones touch the files in this diff.
  • I found a flaky test in tests/payments. Create an item on the Engineering Bugs board with the failure output in the update.
  • Check the Release board for items still marked Blocked and summarize what each one is waiting on.

Connect monday.com

  1. In VS Code, open Andromity Hub → MCP Servers → Discover. In the terminal app, open /settings → MCP → + Connect an app. Find monday.com and select Connect.
  2. Sign in to monday.com in your browser and approve the connection. If your account requires it, an account admin must approve the new connection first.
  3. Andromity saves monday.com to ~/.andromity/mcp.json and connects it. If you cancel sign-in, nothing is saved.

See Connect an app for how Andromity stores connectors and tokens.

Access and safety

  • Actions run as the user who authorizes and respect that user's monday.com permissions.
  • monday.com lets you create your own OAuth app to control who connects, which clients can connect and which scopes limit MCP actions.
  • monday.com documents a personal API token as a Bearer token option for personal use and testing. Andromity's one-click connector uses OAuth, so add a server by hand in mcp.json to use a token.
  • Andromity's permission modes apply to every monday.com tool call.

In an untrusted folder, MCP servers don’t start at all. Read workspace trust and permission modes for the full model.

Limits to know

  • Tool calls count against your account's daily API call limit, the same as direct API requests, so workflows with many calls can use it up quickly.
  • Only the Streamable HTTP endpoint is supported. The SSE endpoint, https://mcp.monday.com/sse, is deprecated; Andromity uses /mcp.
  • monday.com does not document a read-only mode for the server.
