CLICKUP MCP SERVER
Connect ClickUp to Andromity with the ClickUp MCP server
Connect ClickUp's official MCP server to Andromity: let your AI coding agent search tasks, update statuses, add comments and log time while it works in your repo.

ClickUp runs an official remote MCP server at https://mcp.clickup.com/mcp. With it connected, Andromity can look up the task you're working on, read its comments and linked tasks, update its status, and leave a comment when the work is done.
ClickUp supports OAuth only. Personal API keys and access tokens are not accepted, so connecting is a single browser sign-in.
What the agent can do with ClickUp
- Search the Workspace for tasks, Lists, Folders and Docs.
- Create, read and update tasks, including assignees, due dates, status and custom fields.
- Create and update tasks in bulk.
- Read and post task comments, with @mentions.
- Add tags, task links and dependencies, and move tasks between Lists.
- Start and stop timers, add time entries and read time logged.
- Browse the Workspace hierarchy and create Lists and Folders.
- Create and edit ClickUp Docs and their pages, and send Chat messages.
Example prompts
Ask for the work in plain language. Naming the server helps, for example “use the ClickUp MCP server”.
- Find the ClickUp task about the CSV export timeout, read its comments, fix the bug on this branch and move the task to In Review.
- I just finished the retry logic in this diff. Add a comment on the matching ClickUp task summarizing what changed and log 45 minutes against it.
- Create ClickUp tasks in the Backend sprint List for each TODO comment under src/billing, and link them to the parent task.
- Read the ClickUp Doc for the new auth flow and check whether the implementation in this repo follows it.
Connect ClickUp
- In VS Code, open Andromity Hub → MCP Servers → Discover. In the terminal app, open /settings → MCP → + Connect an app. Find ClickUp and select Connect.
- Sign in to ClickUp in your browser and approve the connection.
- Andromity saves ClickUp to ~/.andromity/mcp.json and connects it. If you cancel sign-in, nothing is saved.
See Connect an app for how Andromity stores connectors and tokens.
Access and safety
- The agent works through the ClickUp account you approve in the browser.
- ClickUp documents that deletion tools are left out of the MCP server as a safety measure.
- Andromity's permission modes apply to every ClickUp tool call. In TRUST mode it asks before tools whose names contain create, update, delete and similar words.
In an untrusted folder, MCP servers don’t start at all. Read workspace trust and permission modes for the full model.
Limits to know
- Without the Everything AI add-on, calls are capped per Workspace per rolling 24 hours: Free Forever 100, Core/Unlimited 300, Business 1,000, Business Plus 2,500, Enterprise 5,000, Enterprise Plus 25,000.
- With the Everything AI add-on, the limits match the Public API limits for your plan. Exceeding a limit returns RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED with a retry time.
- ClickUp says limits may change and that usage is subject to a fair use policy.
- Connected Search across other apps is not supported.
