Connect Wix to Andromity with the Wix MCP server

Wix hosts an official MCP server at https://mcp.wix.com/mcp. With it, Andromity can search Wix's developer documentation, write REST or SDK code for the Wix platform, and make API calls on your Wix sites while it works in your repository.

By default the server authenticates through your Wix account, so connecting is a browser sign-in. Wix also documents an API key option for tools that cannot sign in interactively.

What the agent can do with Wix

• Search Wix's developer documentation.
• Read the full text of a docs article or the schema of an API method before writing a call.
• Generate REST or SDK code and build features against Wix APIs, for example in a headless project.
• Call APIs on a site, such as applying a discount to store products, adding a bookings staff member or sending an email to a contact.
• Create and publish a site, install a business solution or scaffold a headless project.

Example prompts

Ask for the work in plain language. Naming the server helps, for example “use the Wix MCP server”.

• Check the Wix schema for the events registration method and fix the call in src/lib/events.ts, which returns a validation error.
• Implement a headless product listing page for this Next.js app using the Wix stores API, and read the method schemas first.
• Add a bookings staff member named Dana to my Wix site, then write a test that confirms our booking widget lists her.
• Look up how Wix contacts are created through the SDK and migrate our CSV import script to use it.

Connect Wix

1. In VS Code, open Andromity Hub → MCP Servers → Discover. In the terminal app, open /settings → MCP → + Connect an app. Find Wix and select Connect.
2. Sign in to your Wix account in the browser and approve the connection. If you cancel, nothing is saved.
3. Andromity saves Wix to ~/.andromity/mcp.json and connects it.

Access and safety

• Calls run through your Wix account sign-in by default.
• Wix documents an API key option that sends Authorization and wix-account-id headers. To use it, add the server by hand in mcp.json with those headers.
• Because the server can act on live sites, keep Andromity in SAFE or TRUST mode when you point it at a production site.

In an untrusted folder, MCP servers don’t start at all. Read workspace trust and permission modes for the full model.

Limits to know

• Wix suggests deleting the ~/.mcp-auth folder and reconnecting if the connection drops after a long idle period or after you switch Wix accounts. That folder belongs to the mcp-remote proxy used in Wix's own examples.
• Wix's docs do not state rate limits or plan requirements for the MCP server.

Does Wix have an official MCP server?

Is the Wix MCP the same as the Wix Site MCP?

No. The Wix MCP connects your agent to Wix. The Wix Site MCP connects visitors' agents to a single site.

Can I authenticate without a browser?

Wix documents an API key plus your account ID sent as headers for tools without an interactive login. Add the server by hand in mcp.json.
