Sentry hosts an official MCP server at https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp, built for coding agents with a human in the loop. Connected to Andromity, the agent can read a production error, its stack trace and related events, then fix the code and verify it locally.

Every connection signs in with Sentry through OAuth in your browser.

What the agent can do with Sentry

  • Search errors, issues, traces and logs in natural language (search_errors, search_issues, search_traces, search_logs).
  • Inspect and triage issues.
  • Use Seer, Sentry’s AI debugging, on sentry.io.
  • Manage projects.
  • Search Sentry’s documentation.

Example prompts

Ask for the work in plain language. Naming the server helps, for example “use the Sentry MCP server”.

  • Look up the most frequent unresolved Sentry issue in the web project from the last 24 hours, find the cause in this repo and fix it.
  • Read Sentry issue WEB-3F2 including the stack trace and breadcrumbs, then write a regression test that reproduces it.
  • Search Sentry traces for slow checkout requests this week and point me to the slowest span in our code.

Connect Sentry

  1. In VS Code, open Andromity Hub → MCP Servers → Discover. In the terminal app, open /settings → MCP → + Connect an app. Find Sentry and select Connect.
  2. Sign in with Sentry in your browser and approve access.
  3. Andromity saves Sentry to ~/.andromity/mcp.json and connects it.

See Connect an app for how Andromity stores connectors and tokens.

Access and safety

  • Sentry recommends scoping the connection when you can: https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp/{organization} limits it to one organization, and /mcp/{organization}/{project} to one project. To use a scoped URL, add it as a server in mcp.json.
  • Skills can be switched on or off with the ?skills= and ?disable-skills= URL parameters.

In an untrusted folder, MCP servers don’t start at all. Read workspace trust and permission modes for the full model.

Limits to know

  • Sentry describes the server as built for human-in-the-loop coding agents, not as a general interface to all of Sentry.
  • Seer isn’t available on self-hosted Sentry.

Questions

Can Andromity fix Sentry errors?
Andromity can read Sentry issues, stack traces, traces and logs through Sentry’s MCP server, then edit and test your code. You review the fix before accepting it.
Can I limit the agent to one Sentry project?
Yes. Sentry documents scoped URLs such as https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp/my-org/my-project. Add that URL as a server in mcp.json.
