GLOBALPING MCP SERVER

Connect Globalping to Andromity with the Globalping MCP server

Connect the Globalping MCP server from jsDelivr to Andromity so your AI coding agent can run ping, traceroute, DNS, MTR and HTTP checks from probes worldwide.

Globalping, from jsDelivr, runs a remote MCP server at https://mcp.globalping.dev/mcp. With it, Andromity can run network measurements from a globally distributed network of probes, for example to check whether a deploy is reachable and resolving correctly from other regions.

Interactive clients sign in with OAuth 2.0 automatically when you connect.

What the agent can do with Globalping

  • Run ping, traceroute and MTR measurements (ping, traceroute, mtr).
  • Run DNS lookups from probes in different locations (dns).
  • Make HTTP requests from probes (http).
  • List available probe locations (locations).
  • Fetch a measurement by ID and compare results across locations (getMeasurement, compareLocations).
  • Check your remaining test allowance and authentication state (limits, authStatus).

Example prompts

Ask for the work in plain language. Naming the server helps, for example “use the Globalping MCP server”.

  • I just deployed this app. Run an HTTP check against the staging URL from Europe, Asia and North America and tell me if any location fails.
  • Our DNS change for api.example.com should be live. Run dns lookups from several locations and compare the answers.
  • Users in Brazil report slow responses. Run a traceroute and an MTR to our host from Brazilian probes and summarize where latency rises.
  • Check how many Globalping tests I have left this hour before running more.

Connect Globalping

  1. In VS Code, open Andromity Hub → MCP Servers → Discover. In the terminal app, open /settings → MCP → + Connect an app. Find Globalping and select Connect.
  2. Approve the connection in your browser.
  3. Andromity saves Globalping to ~/.andromity/mcp.json and connects it.

See Connect an app for how Andromity stores connectors and tokens.

Access and safety

  • Globalping documents an API token as an alternative for scripts and CI/CD, sent as a bearer token. Andromity uses OAuth.
  • Measurements run from public probes against targets you name. Andromity's permission modes apply to every Globalping tool call.

In an untrusted folder, MCP servers don’t start at all. Read workspace trust and permission modes for the full model.

Limits to know

  • Free users get an hourly test allowance, which the limits tool reports. The page gives no fixed number.
  • Authenticated users with credits can go beyond the allowance, at one credit per additional test.
  • A 401 before OAuth completes is expected, according to the Globalping docs.
  • The legacy /sse endpoint exists for clients without Streamable HTTP. Andromity uses /mcp.

Questions

Does Globalping have an official MCP server?
Yes. jsDelivr publishes it at https://mcp.globalping.dev/mcp and documents it in its GitHub repository.
Is Globalping free to use?
Globalping describes its API as free and public, with an hourly test allowance for free users. Credits allow more tests.
Which checks can the agent run?
ping, traceroute, dns, mtr and http measurements from probes in many locations.
