PAGERDUTY MCP SERVER
Connect PagerDuty to Andromity with the PagerDuty MCP server
Connect PagerDuty's official MCP server to Andromity: let your AI coding agent read incidents, check on-call schedules and add incident notes while it debugs your code.

PagerDuty hosts an official MCP server at https://mcp.pagerduty.com/mcp. With it, Andromity can look up an incident and its alerts, find related and past incidents, see who is on call for a service, and add notes while it works on the fix.
PagerDuty does not support dynamic client registration, so Andromity connects with a PagerDuty User API key. You paste the key once; Andromity tests it before saving anything.
What the agent can do with PagerDuty
- Browse incidents, alerts, notes and change events, including related and past incidents (browse_incidents, browse_change_events).
- Create and update incidents, add notes and responders, and start workflows (manage_incidents).
- Read services, escalation policies, teams and users (browse_services, browse_escalation_policies, browse_teams, browse_users).
- Read schedules and current on-call entries, and create schedule overrides (browse_schedules, manage_schedules).
- Read event orchestrations and alert grouping settings (browse_event_orchestrations, browse_alert_grouping).
- Read status pages and create status page posts and updates (browse_status_pages, manage_status_pages).
- Read activity log entries (browse_activity).
Example prompts
Ask for the work in plain language. Naming the server helps, for example “use the PagerDuty MCP server”.
- Pull up the open PagerDuty incident for the checkout service, read its alerts and change events, and find the commit in this repo most likely to have caused it.
- Look up past incidents related to this one and tell me whether the fix from the last one still exists in the codebase.
- Who is on call for the payments service right now? Add that person to my PR description as the reviewer to ping.
- Add a note to the current incident summarizing the rollback in this branch.
Connect PagerDuty
- In PagerDuty, create a User API key for your own account. The hosted server accepts a User API key.
- In VS Code, open Andromity Hub → MCP Servers → Discover. In the terminal app, open /settings → MCP → + Connect an app. Find PagerDuty and select Connect.
- Paste the API key when asked. Andromity sends it as Authorization: Token token=<key>.
- Andromity sends a test request first. If PagerDuty rejects the key, nothing is saved. If it accepts it, the key goes into Andromity's encrypted token store and the server connects.
See Connect an app for how Andromity stores connectors and tokens.
Access and safety
- The server acts with the permissions of the key you provide. PagerDuty notes that some filters, such as scoping list_incidents by teams or assigned, need user-level authentication.
- PagerDuty says tool filtering is not available on the hosted server. To restrict what succeeds, PagerDuty points to a scoped OAuth client.
- The write tools (manage_incidents, manage_services, manage_schedules, manage_teams and others) are available by default. Their names contain none of the words Andromity’s TRUST mode looks for (create, update, delete and similar), so TRUST mode runs them without asking. Use SAFE mode, which asks before every call, when the agent works with PagerDuty.
In an untrusted folder, MCP servers don’t start at all. Read workspace trust and permission modes for the full model.
Limits to know
- PagerDuty lists a PagerDuty account with Advanced Permissions as a requirement.
- EU accounts use https://mcp.eu.pagerduty.com/mcp. Andromity's catalog entry uses the US URL, so add the EU URL by hand in mcp.json if your account is in the EU.
- PagerDuty's self-hosted MCP server is deprecated in favor of the hosted one; Andromity uses the hosted server.
Questions
- Does PagerDuty have an official MCP server?
- Yes. PagerDuty hosts it at https://mcp.pagerduty.com/mcp and documents it in its developer docs.
- Does Andromity use OAuth for PagerDuty?
- No. PagerDuty does not support dynamic client registration, so Andromity asks for a User API key and keeps it in its encrypted token store.
- Does PagerDuty offer an EU endpoint?
- Yes. EU accounts use https://mcp.eu.pagerduty.com/mcp, which you can add by hand in mcp.json.
